1.0 GENERAL
Foods for human consumption, as well as animal feeds, are increasingly subject to more and more regulation. At the same time, mycotoxins are increasingly included in testing as an important toxicological parameter. Frequently, the levels of several mycotoxins in a sample have to be determined. Among the large number of mycotoxins, Deoxynivalenol(DON), T-2 and zearalenone (ZON) are especially important.
2.0 INTENDED USE
IAC-SEP®DTZ can purify and concentrate Deoxynivalenol, T-2 toxin and Zearalenone. It is widely used for testing mycotoxins in a variety of commodities. Such as grain, feed, soybean, rapeseed, vegetable oil, soy sauce, vinegar, jam and liquor. These products are safe and simple. Sample clean up can be performed in less than 15 minutes and determined by HPLC or LC-MS. It is a fast, simple, safe and highly accurate method for quantitatively measuring Deoxynivalenol, ,T-2 and zearalenone (ZON).
3.0 PRINCIPLE
To measure Deoxynivalenol ,Ochratoxin and Zearalenone levels, samples are prepared by mixing with an extraction solution, followed by blending and filtering. The extract is then applied to the DTZ column, which contains specific antibodies forDeoxynivalenol , T-2 and Zearalenone. At this stage, the mycotoxins binds to the antibody on the column. The column is then washed to rid the immunoaffinity column of impurities. By passing methanol through the column, the mycotoxins is removed from the antibody. The methanol can then be injected into an HPLC or LC-MS system.
